Hello and welcome to the decorative finish department. Before sampling my work I'd like to introduce myself. My name is James Starr and I have recently crossed over to Diversified in order to establish a complete package for the company. I offer an array of finishes that bring forth a complimentary and unique aspect within the home. I make it my priority to please the customers expectations. That may be easier said than done especially when the finer elements of this craft are common to so few. Nonetheless, I will make the utmost effort in clarifying the differences between such finishes including the pros and cons associated with them. I specialize in the following : Venetian Plaster, Fauxing, Strie glazing, Guilding, Distressing, Crackle, Antico or Marmorino finishes...let see which one is right for your home! Their is no charge for the initial consultation. A visual interpretation is always available. So without further ado please proceed to the sample pages.
VENETIAN PLASTER: The most luxurious of the hand crafted finishes. Its elegant look is made up of finely crushed marble dust creating a smooth consistency and applied with a 6 inch blade. The result is a very smooth polished look in any desired color. This finish is best described as an indefinite finish, basically when this finish is applied it is likely to last a lifetime or more. The downside of the Venetian plaster is that it is difficult to patch up. Don't be scared by this, its just a heads up for those who may has little ones running around coloring the walls or playing baseball in the house. But it still is the Rolls Royce of finishes.
ANTICO: This is a more durable and organic finish than the Venetian Plaster. If you can picture cutting a slab of limestone out of a mountain, this is what it would look like. Made up of crushed lime and fragments of glass and sand, this product can be polished to a high sheen or matte finish. The Antico has been coined the new venetian plaster for 2 reasons. First, it is more durable and can be sanded down for repairs. Secondly it is more affordable and equally amazing.
GUILDING: This is simple leafing gold, silver, platinum, dutch metal or aluminum leaf to any surface or furniture. Great for lettering and personalizing cherished items.
GLAZING: This is a very versatile finish that has a limitless possibilities in types of finishes. It is very easy to establish the right colors and movements in order to accommodate the furnishings within these walls using a glazed finish.
Thank you for your time and I hope this was a helpful guide for your journey in finding the right finish for your home.
